Respite Care President and CEO Rebecca Helterbrand talks about the work they do to prevent child abuse, noting that children with special needs are more likely to be abused or neglected. Respite Care provides a variety of services to children with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, giving parents a break. The organization operates the only licensed emergency shelter in Texas for children with complex medical needs.
